Privacy Notice
Last updated 7 August 2026
This notice describes the privacy practices of the Reliant Personal Cyber program, meaning this website and the enrollment process for the program. If you are issued an insurance policy through this program, the carrier that issues your policy provides its own privacy notice, and that carrier notice governs how the carrier handles your information. Please read it separately when you receive it.
The Reliant Personal Cyber program is offered by Reliant Insurance Services, a licensed insurance producer. The monitoring and incident response technology used in the program, including dark web monitoring, is provided by SYBA. This notice explains what personal information we collect through the website and enrollment, why we collect it, who we disclose it to, the rights available to California residents, our obligations as an insurance producer under the Gramm Leach Bliley Act, and how to contact us about a privacy request.
1. Notice at Collection: Categories of Personal Information We Collect
This section is provided under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA). The table below lists the categories of personal information we collect through the website and the enrollment process, examples within each category, why we collect it, and who it is disclosed to. We collect Social Security numbers and government identification numbers because dark web monitoring and identity monitoring cannot function without them: the monitoring service checks whether your SSN, passport number, or driver's license number appears in breach data or on dark web marketplaces.
| Category | Examples | Purpose | Disclosed to |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers | Name, mailing address, email address, phone number, date of birth | Enrollment, account administration, policy issuance, customer communication | Insurance carriers, underwriters, SYBA, service providers |
| Financial information | Payment card details, billing address, subscription and billing history | Processing recurring subscription payments, billing support | Stripe (payment processor) |
| Government identifiers | Social Security number, passport number, driver's license number | Dark web monitoring, SSN and government ID monitoring, identity verification | SYBA, monitoring data sources, insurance carriers where required for claims |
| Internet activity | Website usage, pages viewed, browser and device information | Operating and improving the website, security, fraud prevention | Service providers that host and operate the website |
| Geolocation | Approximate location derived from IP address or address provided at enrollment | Determining state of residence for insurance eligibility and applicable law | Insurance carriers, service providers |
| Sensitive personal information | Social Security number, government ID numbers, account log-in credentials | Identity monitoring, account access, fraud prevention | SYBA, monitoring data sources, service providers |
We collect this information directly from you when you enroll, from your use of the website, and from the insurance carrier and service providers involved in issuing and administering your policy.
2. Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information
Reliant Insurance Services does not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross context behavioral advertising. Because we do not engage in either practice, there is nothing for you to opt out of today. We still provide a request route below in case that changes, or in case you would like written confirmation of this practice.
To submit a "Do Not Sell or Share" request or to ask a question about this practice, use the contact information in Section 8 of this notice.
3. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information, subject to certain exceptions under California law:
- Right to know: the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, and the purposes for collecting it.
- Right to delete: deletion of personal information we have collected from you, subject to exceptions such as information we must retain for insurance, legal, or security purposes.
- Right to correct: correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
- Right to opt out: opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information. As explained above, we do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of at this time.
- Right to limit use of sensitive personal information: limiting our use of sensitive personal information, such as your Social Security number, to what is necessary to provide the monitoring service and administer your policy. We do not use sensitive personal information for purposes beyond this.
- Right to non-discrimination: we will not deny you services, charge you a different price, or provide a different level of service because you exercised a privacy right.
How to submit a request
Submit a request using the contact information in Section 8 of this notice. Please describe the request you are making and the account or enrollment it relates to.
Verifying your identity
Before we act on a request to know, delete, or correct, we will verify your identity using information you provided at enrollment, such as your name, address, and date of birth. We may ask for additional information if needed to complete verification.
Authorized agents
You may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. We will require proof that you have given the agent permission to act for you, and we may still require you to verify your own identity directly with us.
Response timeline
We will confirm receipt of your request within ten business days and respond substantively within forty five days of receipt. If we need more time, we will notify you and may extend the response period by up to an additional forty five days.
4. GLBA Privacy Notice for Insurance Customers
Reliant Insurance Services is a licensed insurance producer, and this section is provided under the Gramm Leach Bliley Act (GLBA) and applicable state insurance privacy laws. In connection with offering, placing, and administering insurance coverage through the Reliant Personal Cyber program, we collect nonpublic personal information about you, including the information described in Section 1 above.
We may disclose nonpublic personal information to the following categories of affiliates and nonaffiliated third parties as permitted or required by law:
- Insurance carriers, underwriters, and reinsurers involved in issuing and maintaining your policy.
- Claims administrators, in connection with the handling of a claim.
- Service providers that support enrollment, billing, monitoring, and customer service, including SYBA and Stripe.
- Regulators, auditors, and other parties where disclosure is required or permitted by law, such as in response to a subpoena or regulatory examination.
We do not disclose nonpublic personal information to nonaffiliated third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.
5. State Insurance Data Security Obligations
As a licensed insurance producer, Reliant Insurance Services is subject to state insurance data security requirements based on the NAIC Insurance Data Security Model Law as adopted by the states in which we are licensed. Consistent with those requirements, we maintain an information security program designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of nonpublic information, and we have procedures in place to investigate and provide notification of a security event affecting nonpublic information as required by applicable state law and by our agreements with insurance carriers.
6. Service Providers
We rely on service providers to operate the Reliant Personal Cyber program. The two primary service providers are:
- Stripe, which processes recurring subscription payments for the program. We do not store your full payment card number; Stripe handles and stores card data on our behalf.
- SYBA, which provides the monitoring and incident response technology behind dark web monitoring, SSN and government ID monitoring, and data broker deletion.
Other service providers support website hosting, customer communication, and billing administration. Each service provider is authorized to use personal information only to perform the services we have engaged them for.
7. Data Retention, Security, and Children
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the program, administer your policy, meet our legal and regulatory obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary by the type of information and the purpose for which it was collected.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. No security program can guarantee complete protection, and we encourage you to contact us promptly if you believe your information has been compromised.
The Reliant Personal Cyber program is not directed to individuals under eighteen years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through the website. Household members, including minor children, may be covered as insureds under a parent's or guardian's policy; in that case, the information we hold about them is provided by the policyholder and is used to administer coverage for that household.
8. Changes to This Notice
We may update this notice from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. When we make changes, we will post the updated notice on this page and revise the "Last updated" date at the top.
