Cover
Who is insured?
Your whole family, at home and when travelling. The financial protection can apply to:
- family members living at the same address, such as your partner, children and people who depend on you;
- full-time students up to and including age 26 who live elsewhere.
The household must live in Belgium.
Does SYBA also help with an incident from before I signed up?
No. Your support and financial protection start on the day you sign up. An incident that began earlier is not covered.
Does the personal protection also cover my business?
No. The Belgian personal cyber support is meant for personal, non-commercial use. It does not protect a business network, customer database or business activities.

How SYBA helps
What does the cyber team do for me?
A specialist assesses the (suspicious) situation and makes a plan of action with you. Depending on the case, we help you contact:
- financial institutions and web shops;
- the police;
- other relevant organisations.
We document the fraud and the steps taken in a file you can use for an insurance claim or a police report.
If you suffer financial losses, the cyber team tries to recover them. If that doesn't work, the financial cover kicks in.
How is this different from antivirus software?
Antivirus protects your device. SYBA also gives you advice and practical help with problems like identity theft, fraud and hacked accounts, plus the tools that come with your membership. The insurance is an extra layer of protection for covered losses.
So keep using normal security on your devices and accounts too.
