Who stands behind your policy.
The first question a serious buyer, or their advisor, asks is the right one: who is the paper? This page answers it in plain English. The license we hold, the carriers behind the limit, and the brokers who place the policy.
The license.
Syba holds insurance broker license FSMA #112441 A in Belgium. The FSMA is the Belgian Financial Services and Markets Authority, the regulator that supervises insurance distribution. A licensed broker is registered with that regulator, answerable to it, and authorized to arrange insurance for clients. The number above is on public record, not on our letterhead alone.
The carriers.
Coverage is provided on a layered basis by A-rated carriers, with capacity layered up to $5,000,000. Two names carry the limit. Both are stated on every coverage page of this site, in the same words.
What an A rating means for your claim: rating agencies grade an insurer's ability to pay claims, year after year, through bad markets and large losses. An A-rated carrier has been judged strong on exactly the day that matters to you, the day you claim. You can verify any carrier's rating yourself at ambest.com.
The routing.
A policy is only as good as the authority that binds it. Carriers grant binding authority to a small number of wholesale partners and licensed brokers, and routing your policy through them is what makes the paper real. That is why binding goes through partners, with broker routing where required, rather than around them.
Binding in the US wholesale channel goes through Jencap Group, one of the largest specialty wholesale distributors in the United States, with $5M capacity per bind. Binding authority through Jencap means policy paper and capacity your advisors already recognize.
Where required, policies are placed through licensed insurance brokers: EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants in the United States. EPIC also handles US insurance questions and complaints, so the people answering for your policy are the people licensed to.
Where coverage is available.
Coverage is available in the United States and the European Union, through the tiers shown for your region. The honest caveat, and it belongs on this page more than anywhere else: coverage, limits and availability vary by jurisdiction and are governed by the issued policy. The policy is the contract; this page is the map.
SYBA is not licensed as an insurance agency or third-party administrator in any jurisdiction. We do not engage in the solicitation of insurance. For any questions regarding insurance, for Europe please contact customer.service@syba.io. For USA please contact EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants: clientserviceinquiry@epicbrokers.com or +1 (407) 378 6203.
Insurance coverage is provided on a layered basis by A-rated carriers. The first $2,000,000 of coverage is underwritten by Tokio Marine; the layer above $2,000,000 up to the $5,000,000 limit is underwritten by Chubb. Policies are placed through SYBA’s licensed insurance brokers (EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants in the United States). Coverage, limits and availability vary by jurisdiction and are subject to the terms of the issued policy.
