Which plans carry crypto cover

The cryptocurrency wallet-fraud line sits in Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond +. It is a sublimit of up to $100K inside the plan’s overall limit, and the issued policy decides what it responds to.

Diamond +$2,250 / month$5MUp to $100K

Every plan, Silver included, comes with the Syba app, the 24/7 cyber desk, and identity theft and recovery, ransomware and cyber extortion, and online fraud and cyber crime cover.

Higher plans add more: from Platinum, data-broker deletion for the family; from Diamond, a personal cyber-security engineer and device recognition and monitoring.

Five ways people lose crypto, and what Syba does about each.

Each story is an example of how the attack works, not a real claim. The numbers come from the reports named under them.

  • SIM swap

    Example

On a Friday evening Marc’s phone loses signal. Someone has talked his mobile carrier into moving his number to a new SIM card. The reset codes for his email and his exchange account now arrive on a phone he has never seen, and by Saturday morning the exchange account is empty.

    What Syba does

Call the desk from the app on any phone you can borrow. Syba helps you get the number back from your mobile carrier, take back the email account, lock the exchange login and record every step for the claim.

From Diamond, your personal cyber-security engineer sets up a carrier PIN and a port-out lock with you before anything happens.

What the policy may respond to

Cryptocurrency stolen through fraud may fall under the wallet-fraud line, up to $100K, subject to the terms and exclusions of the issued policy.

  • Wallet drainers

    Example

Sofie sees an airdrop for a token she holds, announced by what looks like the project’s own account. The claim page asks her to connect her wallet and sign one message. That signature is a permission, and a contract uses it to move her tokens out moments later.

    What Syba does

The Syba Chrome extension grades the page in front of you and blocks known phishing pages before they load. If you have already signed, call the desk: Syba helps you revoke the approval, move what is left to a clean wallet and keep the transaction trail.

What the policy may respond to

Funds drained after a fraudulent signature may fall under the wallet-fraud line, up to $100K, subject to the terms and exclusions of the issued policy.

  • Fake sites and impersonation

    Example

An email that looks like it comes from Pieter’s exchange says his account is locked. The link opens a perfect copy of the login page. The next day a “support agent” calls, knows his name and his balance, and asks him to move his coins to a “safe” wallet that belongs to the caller.

    What Syba does

The extension flags lookalike domains and brand impersonation in the tab you are on. When a caller says they are your exchange, your bank or Syba, hang up and call the desk from the app. Syba checks the story with you before any coin moves.

What the policy may respond to

Crypto lost to a fake site or an impersonator may fall under the wallet-fraud line, up to $100K, subject to the terms and exclusions of the issued policy.

taken by crypto scams in 2025 at the least, with impersonation scams up more than 1,400% on the year beforeSource: Chainalysis, 2026
  • Address poisoning

    Example

Every month Anne pays the same supplier in stablecoins, and this time she copies the address from her transaction history, as usual. An attacker had sent her a tiny transfer from an address with the same opening and closing characters, and that is the one she copied.

    What Syba does

The desk shows the household how to check an address by its full string and keep a verified address book. After a mistaken transfer, Syba records the trail and helps you report it to the exchange and the police.

What the policy may respond to

A payment redirected by address poisoning may fall under the wallet-fraud line, up to $100K, subject to the terms and exclusions of the issued policy.

    270M

address-poisoning attempts in a study published in 2025, 6,633 of them successful, with at least $83.8M lostSource: Tsuchiya et al., USENIX Security, 2025
  • Fake investment platforms

    Example

A friendly stranger messages Luc about a wrong number, then about markets. Weeks later Luc watches his balance grow on a trading app the stranger recommended. When he asks to withdraw, the app asks for a “release fee”. The app, the profits and the stranger were never real.

    What Syba does

Before you send money to a new platform, ask the desk: Syba checks the site, the app and the story with you. Afterwards, ignore “recovery services” that ask for a fee to get funds back. They are often the same people.

What the policy may respond to

Money you sent yourself to a fraudulent platform is a different case from a theft. Whether the policy responds, up to $100K, depends on its wording and exclusions, so ask the desk before you assume either way.

How the Syba Chrome extension works

If it happens: call Syba from the app.

Crypto transfers usually cannot be reversed, so the order of the next steps matters. Syba runs the response; the carrier pays covered claims under the policy terms.

  1. Call Syba from the app

The Syba app holds the number for the desk and for claims, so it is in your pocket when the laptop is the thing that was compromised.

  2. Syba runs the response

The desk helps you lock the accounts, the phone number and the devices involved, revoke token approvals and move what is left to a wallet the attacker has never touched.

  3. Syba builds the case file

Transaction hashes, addresses, screenshots, messages and a timeline: what the carrier, the exchange and the police will ask for.

  4. File the claim from the app

The carrier pays covered claims under the policy terms, and the desk stays with you while the claim is assessed.

Self-custody habits worth keeping.

None of these takes long, and each one closes a door the stories above walked through.

  • Keep savings on a hardware wallet

Hold what you do not trade on a hardware wallet, and keep a small hot wallet for everyday use.

  • Keep the seed phrase off the cloud

Write it on paper or metal and store it somewhere physical. No screenshot, no photo, no notes app, no email to yourself. Nobody legitimate will ever ask for it, Syba included.

  • Lock your phone number

Ask your mobile carrier for a PIN on the account and a port-out lock, and move two-factor codes from text messages to an authenticator app or a security key.

  • Check the whole address

Compare every character of a receiving address, not just the opening and closing characters, and send a small test amount before a large one.

  • Revoke old token approvals

Review the permissions your wallet has given to contracts and revoke the ones you no longer use. Read what a signature request allows before you sign it.

  • Let the browser check the site

Install the free Syba Chrome extension, so a lookalike exchange or mint page is flagged before you type anything into it.

Questions crypto holders ask

  • Which Syba plans include cryptocurrency cover?

In the US plans, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, and Diamond + carry the cryptocurrency wallet-fraud line; Silver does not. The European plans do not carry it, and they carry online fraud and cyber crime cover instead.

  • How much crypto loss can the policy cover?

The cryptocurrency line is a sublimit of up to $100K inside the plan’s overall limit. What it responds to, and what it excludes, is set by the issued policy.

  • What does the crypto cover not do?

It is not investment insurance. It does not cover market losses, bad investments, failed protocols or rug pulls, and nobody can reverse a transfer once it is on the chain. It responds to theft and fraud as the issued policy defines them, within its sublimit, terms and exclusions.

  • Who pays a covered claim?

The carrier pays covered claims under the policy terms. Syba runs the response and helps you file the claim from the app.

  • Is crypto cover part of the European plans?

No. The cryptocurrency wallet-fraud line is part of the US plans. The European plans carry online fraud and cyber crime cover and the 24/7 cyber desk you can call.

  • What should I do right after a theft?

Call Syba from the app before you do anything else. Do not reply to the attacker, and do not pay anyone who offers to recover the funds for a fee. Keep the transaction hashes and screenshots; the desk will tell you what else to save.

  • Can Syba get stolen crypto back?

Usually not. Most crypto transfers cannot be reversed. Syba runs the response and builds the case file, and where your plan carries the wallet-fraud line, the carrier pays covered claims under the policy terms.
