Coverage

What does Syba actually cover?

Seven categories of cyber loss: Cyber Security & Privacy Liability; Cyber Breach Events (notification costs, 24-month credit monitoring); Data Recovery (up to $100K sub-limit); Cyber Ransomware & Extortion (including ransom payments); Online Fraud & Cyber Crime (money, securities, and up to $100K in cryptocurrency); Identity Theft (attorney fees, credit monitoring, tax and medical record disputes); and Cyberbullying & Counseling (therapist, childcare, digital forensics, capped at $50K). Limits range from $250K at Silver to $5M at Diamond.

What is the maximum coverage amount?

The Diamond family-office plan provides up to $5M. Silver provides up to $250K, Gold up to $500K, Platinum up to $2M. Higher tiers add cryptocurrency cover up to $100K, Single-Member LLCs, and household staff such as nannies and au pairs where eligible.

Where and when am I protected and insured?

At all times — at home and while traveling.

Who will be insured?

The family office or every family member — even when a device is not actively monitored.

What happens if a family member isn't using the app?

You and all family members stay insured even if monitoring is off. We'll work with you to get monitoring back on quickly, since it materially improves your cyber hygiene.

Are there hidden costs or conditions?

No deductibles, no conditions, and no extra actions required after you pay. Contracts run 12 months; if you're breached during that period, your premium won't increase within the term.

Can LLCs be included?

Yes, with conditions. Single-member LLCs are covered where the insured is the sole member and the LLC has no operational risk (a holding entity, not a service business), with exposure arising from the same network as personal use. If married and the LLC is in both names, it’s also covered.

Can nannies and au pairs be covered?

Yes, under conditions. Household employees who don't live with the family are covered if breached while on the insured's home network. If they reside with the family, they're treated as family and covered.

Insurance

Is this real insurance or a service?

Both. A Syba membership is a protection service (continuous scanning and monitoring, the Shield browser agent, a 24/7 concierge, household training) paired with insurance coverage provided on a layered basis by A-rated carriers. SYBA is not licensed as an insurance agency or third-party administrator in any jurisdiction. We do not engage in the solicitation of insurance. Who underwrites the coverage, and who pays a claim?

Insurance coverage is provided on a layered basis by A-rated carriers. The first $2,000,000 of coverage is underwritten by Tokio Marine; the layer above $2,000,000 up to the $5,000,000 limit is underwritten by Chubb. Policies are placed through SYBA’s licensed insurance brokers (EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants in the United States). Coverage, limits and availability vary by jurisdiction and are subject to the terms of the issued policy.

What is excluded?

Every coverage line on the coverage page shows a not covered example next to its covered one, so the boundaries are visible before you buy. The final word always belongs to the issued policy, never to a marketing page.

How do claims work?

Your concierge team owns the claim from first report to resolution. You file once, a real person takes it from there, and you follow the status from your dashboard.

Where is it available?

In the United States and the European Union, through the plans shown for your region. Coverage, limits and availability vary by jurisdiction and are subject to the terms of the issued policy.

How does renewal work?

Membership runs as a subscription, billed monthly or annually depending on the plan you choose, and renews at the end of each period. Contracts run 12 months; if you are breached during that period, your premium will not increase within the term. Your renewal date is shown on the policy page in your dashboard. Plans and pricing may change.

Can I cancel?

Yes. You may cancel any month with a prorated refund. Manage or cancel your subscription any time from the billing page in your dashboard, which opens the secure Stripe customer portal.

What does the scan have to do with my coverage?

It is security context, nothing more. The scan shows your household posture and where the protection stack is working. It never sets your price, your tier or your eligibility.

Product & app

What's the difference between Syba and antivirus software?

Syba combines cyber prevention and cyber insurance in one service, backed by a 24/7 helpdesk. Most antivirus tools cover only malware/ransomware; where cyber insurance is bundled, it usually covers only identity-theft protection. Syba does both — and pays out when something gets through.

What is the Syba app and where do I download it?

The free Syba iOS app (App Store id 1609996286, iOS 16.6+) scans devices on your WiFi for vulnerabilities, checks whether your emails appear in breaches, and monitors your social-media usernames for impersonation. An Android version isn't published yet.

How does 24/7 Cyber Support (Syba Buddy) work?

Open a chat from inside the app any time and connect with a cyber expert on our US or EU team. No ticket queue, no question too small — a compromised account, a suspicious email, or just a gut feeling. Median pickup: 47 seconds.

Does Syba comply with GDPR and NIS2?

Our tools and data help organisations stay ahead of privacy legislation. For EU clients, our coverage and monitoring support GDPR breach-notification and data-protection obligations.
