What does a home-insurance add-on cost?

Less, usually, and for less. NerdWallet (2026) reports that personal cyber coverage can start at under three dollars a month when added to an existing home or renters policy. An add-on is set by your home insurer, so its limit, exclusions and the help on offer are theirs to define. Read them next to the plan you are comparing.

What moves the price?

Four things move the price of personal cyber cover, on Syba plans and elsewhere.

  • The limit: more cover costs more.

  • Who is covered: one household, a complete family, single-member LLCs, household staff.

  • Add-ons: cryptocurrency cover, third-party liability, an assigned Personal Cyber Security Engineer, data broker deletion.

  • Region: Syba’s United States and European plans are priced and limited separately.

Is the cheapest price the right comparison?

Not alone. The National Cyber Security Centre (2020) advises asking what a policy covers and excludes, what services are included, whether it supports you during and after an incident, and what must be in place to claim. A price tells you the cost; those answers tell you what it buys.
